Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how RideClicker (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal data when you use the RideClicker application (“Service”). This Policy is compliant with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA).

By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of your data as described in this Policy.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

Account Information

  • Display name, email address, and profile photo URL — obtained from your Google account during sign-in.
  • Phone number — provided by you during registration.

Device Information (collected automatically)

  • Device identifier (Android ID)
  • Device manufacturer, model, and brand
  • Android version and custom OS (if any)

Location Information

  • State and city — selected by you manually. We do NOT collect GPS location or track your real-time whereabouts.

Subscription and Payment Data

  • Subscription status, plan details, wallet balance, and referral information.
  • UPI transaction reference numbers — submitted by you when claiming a payment.

Technical and Diagnostic Data

  • App version and login timestamps.
  • Ride event logs — only when you explicitly upload them via the “Report a Problem” feature for troubleshooting.
  • Clipboard data — read locally by the AutoClipboardLogger for ride event debugging only. This data is stored on your device and uploaded only when you explicitly choose to send a log report.

3. Data We Do Not Collect

We want to be transparent about what we do NOT access or collect:

  • Photographs, gallery, camera, or media files
  • Contacts, messages, SMS, or call logs
  • Files, documents, or downloads stored on your device
  • Banking, UPI, or payment application data
  • Browsing history or data from apps other than the supported ride-hailing driver apps
  • GPS or real-time location data
  • Screen recordings, screenshots, or screen content transmitted to our servers

The Accessibility Service reads screen content ONLY from the specific ride-hailing driver apps listed in its configuration and ONLY when the Accessibility Service is actively enabled by you. No screen content is recorded, stored, or transmitted to any server.

4. Purpose of Data Collection

We use your data for the following purposes:

  • Account authentication and management
  • Subscription management and payment verification
  • Technical support and debugging (when you submit a log report)
  • Device binding for licence enforcement (one active device per subscription)
  • Location-based service configuration (e.g., displaying relevant setup guides)
  • Referral program administration

5. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data based on your informed consent, as required under Section 6 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. You provide this consent by accepting these terms within the App.

6. Data Storage

  • Remote: Your account and subscription data is stored in Firebase Realtime Database, hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure. Servers may be located outside India.
  • Local: App settings and preferences are stored in encrypted DataStore on your device.
  • Firebase persistence is enabled, allowing limited offline functionality.

7. Data Retention

  • Your personal data is retained for as long as your account remains active.
  • You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at rideclickerapp@gmail.com. We will process such requests within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Diagnostic logs uploaded for troubleshooting are retained for support purposes and may be deleted periodically.

8. Data Sharing

  • We do NOT sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your personal data with any third party for marketing or advertising purposes.
  • Your data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure (Firebase) as part of the Service’s technical operations. Google’s data handling is governed by their own privacy policy and data processing terms.
  • We may disclose your data if required by law, regulation, legal process, or government request.

9. Your Rights Under DPDPA 2023

As a data principal under the DPDPA, you have the following rights:

  • Right to Access — You may request information about the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to Correction — You may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Right to Erasure — You may request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention obligations.
  • Right to Nomination — You may nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.
  • Right to Grievance Redressal — You may raise a grievance regarding the processing of your data.

10. Data Security

We implement reasonable security practices and procedures to protect your data, including:

  • Firebase security rules restricting data access to authenticated users
  • Device-level DataStore storage
  • Authenticated access controls for all database operations

11. Children’s Data

The Service is not intended for use by persons under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we become aware that we have collected data from a person under 18, we will take steps to delete such data.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the in-app re-consent mechanism, requiring your renewed acceptance before you can continue using the Service.

13. Grievance Officer

In accordance with the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, the details of the Grievance Officer are:
